2010 So Far ...

So this is my first real post on this blog all year. Lots of things have gone on this year, some of which were a little unexpected; such as the surprise cracking of my rear brake disk on my car, which left a nice dent in my wallet.

I have recently rekindled my love of climbing having gone on a couple of trips in the midlands. Much fun was had by all, with the exception of me falling over on the race back to the cars. For those interested I did win the race back to the car, I was just a little more bloody than I had expected.

I am hoping that following my house move this weekend I can start getting back into my forensic research. Recently I have had no will to do any computing related research or dabbling after work. This is primarily due to the volume of idiotic calls I receive during the course of my working day. Those of you who follow me on twitter will have experienced some of these gems on an almost daily basis.

I am still in the process of trying to find a new job which is more challenging and mentally stimulating than my current job. Of course a higher salary would also be nice, but I am primarily looking for a challenge.

On the bright side, the amount of free time I have at work gives me an opportunity to get to grips with Android on my HTC Wildfire.

I am also on the hunt for a new car, as I have decided that it is no longer financially viable to keep my 172 Clio. Maybe one day I will own another Renault Sport car again. In the mean time, I plan to sell my car and replace it with an original Mini Cooper Sport. Any advice that anyone can offer on buying a Mini would be appreciated.

So I'm Finally Back ...

Finally after a massive absence from the blog I am back.

My absence from here was primarily due to the volume of work that I had during the final year of my degree, which meant I had very little time to dedicate to anything other than uni work.

On a positive note, I have since graduated from university with a 2:1 in Secure and Forensic Computing. I was a little disappointed with the result, as I felt that a first would have been within reach, had I tried a little harder. I did achieve a first overall in my project, which made all the work I put into it worthwhile.

I am currently employed, all be it a pretty poor job, but it does pay the bills. I am constnatly on the look out for something more challenging and with greater prospects, but until then I will have to face tech support for the NHS on a daily basis.

I will be aiming to blog on a more regular basis, so expect fresh posts at least once a month, if not more often.
